Broker's Comments
This is a very honest Hardy 25 that has seen very little use over the last ten years. Purchased with the intention of cruising the waters around Falmouth, a change in circumstances has meant that the boat has spent much of the last three years ashore. The engine has been regularly run, however prospective purchasers should note that there is no documented service history available from 2013 onwards. We would strongly recommend a full engine and sterndrive service as part of the recommissioning process before returning the boat to regular use.
Stepping aboard, it is immediately apparent that this example has benefited from careful ownership. The accommodation presents exceptionally well for a vessel of this age, with smart upholstery, new carpeting and attractive timber joinery throughout. The interior offers comfortable accommodation for extended weekends away, with a spacious forward dinette that converts to a double berth, a generous settee berth, galley facilities and a separate heads compartment.
The wheelhouse provides excellent visibility and the secure side decks and deep cockpit are typical of the Hardy range, making the boat an ideal choice for coastal cruising, fishing or exploring the creeks and estuaries of Cornwall.
Power is provided by a Volvo Penta six-cylinder diesel engine coupled to a Volvo Penta duo prop sterndrive. The engine installation appears original and well maintained, with approximately 4,550 hours recorded. Hardy’s renowned semi-displacement hull offers a comfortable and confidence-inspiring ride, with economical cruising.
The boat is currently ashore, making inspection straightforward. Whilst some recommissioning should be expected following a period of limited use, she offers an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-presented example of this highly regarded British-built motor cruiser.
The Hardy 25 enjoys a loyal following thanks to its robust construction, practical layout and seaworthy handling characteristics. Examples presented in this condition are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
