David Pippard

Hi, I’m David, based just outside Falmouth in Cornwall. I’ve had a passion for the sea from an early age and spend as much time on the water as possible — whether that’s boating, surfing, fishing, or working around the coast. Living in Cornwall gives me access to some of the best boating waters and coastline in the UK, which is something I never take for granted.

What did you do before working with Boatshed?

Before joining Boatshed Cornwall, I built and ran Cornish Marine, a marine dealership and service business specialising in new boat packages, servicing, maintenance, and boat management. Working closely with boat owners across Cornwall gave me a strong understanding of both the practical and brokerage side of the marine industry.

What attracted you to become part of the Boatshed team?

As Cornish Marine grew, many of our customers were looking to upgrade, change boating styles, or sell their boats. Joining Boatshed Cornwall was a natural next step, allowing us to offer a professional brokerage service backed by a recognised international network, while still keeping the personal and local approach our customers value.

Are you a motorboater or a sailor?

Having had many ribs and fishing boats, power has always been the way forward. With the recent birth of my son, I am now making the move over to sailing.

What is your most memorable boating experience?

There are too many memorable moments to pick just one. From days out on the water with family and friends watching the Red Arrows over Falmouth Bay, to long fishing trips around the Cornish coast and marshalling for UKOPRA powerboat racing events — boating has always been a huge part of my life and career.
