Broker's Comments

This is one of the iconic class of Vertue Auxiliary Bermudan Sloops, designed by Jack Laurent Giles of Laurent Giles & Partners, Naval Architects from Lymington, Hampshire. Launched in 1958, she has voyaged extensively around the North Sea, English Channel and Irish Sea. Since returning to her original family owners at the turn of this century, she has undergone extensive work by skilled shipwrights to maintain the authenticity of her fabric and to update the condition of her general equipment. Now at 65 years old, she remains in good condition for her age and is as pretty to look at and as delightful to sail as ever.
There has been a recent restoration to ensure her integrity and seaworthiness. This has included new s/s chainplates; new s/s pulpit, stanchions and guardrails; new s/s standing rigging and English Braid running rigging; repairs to her cabin top and parts of the cockpit; replacement interior carlings; new oak mast step; new house and engine batteries.
