Royal Huisman’s new 59m superyacht ready to launch

Royal Husiman has released images of its latest project, the 58.5m superyacht Phi.

Undergoing her final outfitting and preparing to launch in Vollenhove, the Netherlands, Phi has been developed and constructed below 500GT and is the longest motoryacht in the category, based on current classification rules.

Vor D Rover is responsible for the exterior design of this new build, while the interior design and styling has been created by London-based studio Lawson Robb. Details are yet to be released but the design is focused on three themes: the galaxy, the ocean surface and the underwater world.

The specially developed Fast Displacement XL hull form, from Van Oossanen Naval Architects, is said to allow the yacht to be long and sleek, yet still remain under the 500 GT mark. The hull is also said to ensure that Phi will be extremely fuel efficient.

“All of us involved in the creation of Phi feel a sense of privilege to have had the opportunity to contribute to this innovative project,” comments owner’s representative Guy Booth. “The co-operation between the owner’s team, the architects, the designers and everyone at Royal Huisman has been exceptional. We can be justifiably proud of what we have achieved.”

Phi is scheduled for delivery later this year and will be supported by a matching 36m shadow vessel, designed by the same designers and constructed at Alia Yachts.
