About David Coumbe
I am a qualified Naval Architect and Chartered Engineer and based in Mylor Bridge just outside Falmouth at the head of Mylor creek in Falmouth Harbour. Cornwall has a long and strong history with the maritime industry and has some fantastic amenities for the boating enthusiast, especially in and around Falmouth, which boosts to be the third deepest natural harbour in the world.
I have a wide and varied experience with all types of vessel and in particular with sail and power, in fact pretty much anything that floats on or under the surface in either the pleasure, commercial or defence market sectors.
I have spent most of my career working in shipyards and boatyards. I hold coastal skipper and powerboat II (PP2) certification and now feel it is time to add some more sea time experience and of course enjoyment to the role of a Yacht Broker.
During my career I have managed the construction and or fit-out of 50’ blue water sailing yachts, the circumnavigating record breaking trimaran, the world largest composite sloop rigged superyacht and undertaken technical consultancy for superyacht owners, both sail and power, including pre-purchase surveys and valuations throughout Europe.
